I came into the session with some implant experience, but I was still relying too much on instinct when deciding whether a site was truly appropriate for immediate placement. Dr. Heyrend gave me a much clearer framework for evaluating the buccal plate, socket anatomy, bone morphology, tissue biotype, angulation, and when it is safer to graft and stage the case instead of forcing immediate placement. He was able to consolidate knowledge from his clinical experience and extensive CE training into one focused, practical session.
Reviewing real radiographs and clinical photos made the concepts much easier to understand and apply. The discussion around targeting the palatal root in maxillary premolars, selecting subcrestal depth, managing the buccal gap, and creating a custom healing abutment helped fill in several gaps I had not been able to connect through courses or online content alone. The session also gave me a more organized way to approach future cases instead of making decisions based mainly on feel. I left with more confidence, but also with a better understanding of where I still need repetition and case review.
This was much more focused than a general implant lecture. It was built around my current experience, specific questions, and the areas where I needed the most guidance. I also received a customized post call report that summarized what we discussed, the clinical principles covered, and a personalized plan for what to work on next. My follow up plan included using the 4 millimeter biotype framework, mapping the palatal root before maxillary premolar placement, practicing the custom healing abutment technique, and organizing my case photos and radiographs for future review. That made the session feel like the beginning of an ongoing development plan rather than a one time coaching call.
Great course. Dr. Heynard shared a lot of information but more importantly he he took the time to go in depth with answering questions. Very knowledgeable but also spoke about how to implement this into your daily practice.
