The greatest value was the volume and quality of the hands-on experience. The instructors first assessed my skill level and knowledge during the planning stages, stayed actively involved when guidance was needed, and gradually allowed more independence as I demonstrated proficiency. I was especially impressed by the opportunity to free-hand implants and work through more complex cases than I had encountered in previous courses. Every case was reviewed before closure, which created an additional layer of safety, accountability, and learning.
Before attending, most of my implant education had been theoretical through textbooks, lectures, and other courses. This program helped convert that knowledge into practical clinical confidence. The pace was faster, the case volume was significantly higher, and the experience felt more comprehensive than other programs I had attended. The instructors were experienced, approachable, and skilled at explaining both the surgical steps and the reasoning behind them. The patients were also very kind and cooperative, which made it easier to focus on developing clinical skills.
This course is best suited for dentists who already have a strong foundation in implant theory and want intensive hands-on experience. I would recommend reviewing implant textbooks or completing a theory-focused implant course beforehand. The more comfortable you are with treatment planning, anatomy, surgical principles, and complication management, the more you will benefit from the clinical opportunities. This is not a slow introductory course—the pace, volume, and complexity are part of what make it so valuable.
Getting to actually place implants with a partner while having a mentor right there the whole time was easily the biggest takeaway. They walked us through everything from case planning to the surgery and then reviewed each case afterward, so it never felt like you were on your own. There were also plenty of patients lined up, so we spent our time treating patients instead of sitting around waiting.
This course definitely gave me more confidence because I was able to apply everything right away instead of just listening to lectures. Having an experienced mentor watching over your shoulder and giving feedback throughout the process made a huge difference. It helped tie everything together and made the implant workflow feel much more approachable.
I’d recommend making sure you already have implant patients lined up back home. The course gives you a lot of hands on experience, but you’ll get the most out of it if you start placing implants soon after. If you wait too long, it’s easy to lose some of the confidence and skills you built during the course.
