Dr. Parul Dua Makkar is a dentist, speaker, author, grief coach, and mentor dedicated to helping healthcare professionals lead with both clinical excellence and emotional resilience. After losing her brother, Dr. Manu Dua, to oral cancer, she transformed personal loss into a mission to educate clinicians on early detection while supporting the healers themselves. Through her platform Dua Good Job, Dr. Makkar mentors providers in navigating grief, preventing burnout, and practicing compassionate, patient-centered care. She is the author of Life Interrupted: Dr. Dua’s Survival Guide, Stories of Friends and Family Lost, and the Legacy Journal. Her work empowers healthcare leaders to turn adversity into advocacy and purpose. She has decades of experience as an associate, practice owner of a start-up. Graduated from University of Oklahoma in 2003, she worked as an associate in Calgary, Canada before moving to NY. Here she completed a GPR in 2007 and then took over her father in law's practice which was heavy Medicaid. In 2018 she did a startup that she is currently the owner of, PDM Family Dental in Long Island. WIth extensive experience she brings a vast knowledge as an associate and practice ownership. As a dentist, mother, speaker and practice owner, her experience is varied and diverse while balancing many aspects of life.
